Australian FTTH News is maintained by Stephen Davies. Its aim is to assist ICT professionals, developers and network operators to gain a better understanding of the technology, services and deployment methods used in FTTH/FTTP.


About Stephen Davies


I have been working in the ICT industry for over 25 years, specialising in the design of data and telecommunications networks. I have extensive network design, commercial and strategic planning experience at companies that included Atlas Global Net, AlphaWest, Westnet, Comswest, Optus, Amcom, Silk Telecom, Bright Telecommunications and Opticomm.


Over the last 11 years I has been actively involved in the establishment of the Fibre to the Home industry in Australia and New Zealand. First consulting to Bright Telecommunications, where I built Australia's first FTTH network in 2001, and then between 2004-2008 at Titan ICT Consultants, at the time Australia's leading consulting firm in Fibre to the Home. Since 2008 I have been the GM of Operations at Opticomm, Australia's leading Open Access FTTH operator.


I regard myself are Australia's leading expert on Fibre to the Home with involvement in more than 100 projects throughout Australia, New Zealand and Bahrain and consulting to four FTTH network operators in Australia.


I am also a professional speaker, with international experience and have presented at more than 100 conferences/workshops on subjects such as FTTH, IPTV, Gigabit Ethernet, SDH, Service Level Agreements, and Satellite communications to name but a few.
