On the ABC's Inside Business program this morning, Optus chief Paul O'Sullivan said his company and the G9 will only respond to the National Broadband Network RFP if it gets an assurance from the Federal Government over structural separation and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) pricing powers.
Steven Letts of ABC News wrote a full article on this interview in which Mr O'Sullivan told interviewer Alan Kohler the current bidding process was "not a level playing field" and it was "ridiculous to expect Optus to participate in its current form".
Kohler pushed the question on bidding several times which O'Sullivan danced around like the consummate politician. O'Sullivan would not directly answer the question of them bidding unless the government extended the closing date for responses.
The transcript of the interview can be found on ABC InsideBusiness, along with the video of the interview.
